2 men are recovering at hospital after separate moped accidents on Oahu

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Two men are recovering after separate moped crashes on Oahu on Saturday, according to Honolulu police officials.
The first incident occurred around 12:40 p.m. on Kalanianaole Highway near the Halona Blowhole when the 34-year-old driver lost control of his moped.
Officials say he was not wearing a helmet and suffered a major head injury.
EMS crews rushed him to the hospital in serious condition.
The other moped crash critically injured a 59-year-old man, according to HPD officials.
Officials said this happened at about 3:15 p.m. on Saturday in the McCully area, near Isenberg Street and South King Street.
Police say the man was also not wearing a helmet when he crashed into a vehicle.
We’re told the other driver, a teenage woman, had the right of way.
She was also injured but only needed to be cared for at the scene.
